I've been trying to get the music to play, but there's nothing. I'm on Pop OS and I've installed all the sound drivers. I've tried changing the .mp3 files into .wav files, but that ended up working short-term before crashes. The Kidney update doesn't seem to work for me. It wasn't working even when I was using Windows 10. I couldn't find any answers on various forums.
Same problem on Windows 7, but for me it's fixed by converting mp3 files into wav and changing music.df config in game directory to load wav files instead. Just replace every 'mp3' with 'wav'. Doesn't crash for me

[install location]\Death Road to Canada\deathforth\music.df (For Windows)

I used WinFF to convert audio, it's binaries should be in many (GNU/)Linux repositories. Windows installer is here: www.biggmatt(dot)com/p/winff, and source code is here github(dot)com/WinFF/winff
GOG doesn't allow me to post links

I actually realized that this game should have music when I saw musician mentioned in the final credits
