I gave this info about problems back in Sep. 2020 when I added the changelog ...
seems to be that no one reads the changelog file except me ... ;)
Concerning the problem the old version runs, the new on can be configured and exited - but not started
(so only a minor issue ... well, not quite ;).
I wrote a mail to Support@rocketcat-games.com but without any feedback ... so I will try it again.
I could provide the old game to GOG to present a working version at least - but GOG seems to be
no longer responding in any way but taking even a hostile position towards Linux gamers.
I think that knowing a bit and explaining how one could change the situation (making games run, using OSEs etc.)
is not the way to address GOG.
So if that attitude changes I would be happy to give to working version to GOG - my support ticket of Feb 10, 2021
about the many problems concerning Linux and a lot of easy things to solve several problems for all Linux gamers
has got the same feedback as the mail to the devs.
As other developers react in hours I think that tells the entire story. It is NOT Covid-19 - that is just a mere excuse.
So I am not stopping trying to help ... but I would not bet on a positive feedback or even help ...
maybe someone should build up a game shop in Europe which does not ignore Linux gamers (or better:
non-Windows gamers) but instead concentrate on real support and making games run natively.
After my experience a Steam share for Linux of 1% is really high concerning the bad support of
native Linux games and the poor knowledge about fixing bugs (as most problems are shared and are discussed
on Steam as they are on GOG) - and GOG got just a shadow of Steam - just rehearsing the old advertisement
statements without any meaning at all: like being DRM-free, home of gamers, supporting Ubuntu even on STSs
(after support page - which was said by GOG support to be not changed while GOG supporting only the version
given on the appropriate product page) ... well, not even that if a problem occurs ... just a pity. And this is stellar support!
Maybe I will present a tiny part of my experience on a thread which gets more fitting to my experience:

but with a deeper technical background - or opening a new one - but the current situation is not at all tolerable.
