Hey guys,
I picked this game up during one of the flash sales and was disappointed to find out that the latest patch never made it to anything other then the Steam version, and after reading around on this forum, it sounds like it never will arrive on GOG...

Now the only thing the latest patch fixed was,
"- Fixed case where movable objects became misaligned when pushed repeatedly from a specific direction."
Now I don't even know how annoying this bug is yet, but it still bums me out that it's out of reach to anyone who bought Deadly Premonition on GOG.

Which got me wondering, how hard would it be to port over the patch from the steam version to the GOG version manually? I mean, the two versions should (in theory) be identical. Minus one having a steam wrapper on one.
Could someone here that owns the Steam version (or both versions) find the files that were changed and either upload them for others to download or make a difference file out of them for others to apply?

Please, explain to me if I'm talking nonsenses here? I'm just baffled as to why this patch was never updated to other stores.

I think that would be hard without reverse engineerign the game :(
But the bug is pretty easy to avoid - all you need to do is to stand right in the middle of every crate you want to push :)
Thanks for informing me on how to avoid the bug.
As for reverse engineering, I don't think one would need to go that far. Something tells me the two versions are exactly alike, only with the steam version having the proprietary Steam DRM in the DP.exe. If the 1.01b patch didn't make any changes to the exe and only updated some other game files, my guess is that those files could simply be copied from the steam version and thrown into the GOG version, thus updating the GOG release.

Again, this is all me guessing and I can't prove anything with out looking at the Steam version (which I don't own).
I was thinking about comparing the different versions and seeing what the differences are. I forgot.
I found someone that uploaded the files that were changed elsewhere, though sadly it seems (to me at least) that the only file that was changed from 1.01 to 1.01b was the exe...

Guess this would take longer to port then a simple file swap.
Well, Rising Star claims it's too hard to make those changes into a standalone update and that's why they release it only for Steam.
