My playtime is 12 hours - but I've never been able to get to the meeting in the community center in chapter 6. Something always happens just before the meeting that causes the game to crash endlessly. And I've tried everything - every compatibility mode, every combination of windowed / administrator / DPfix that there is. I've restarted the game 3 times from the beginning to try to avoid the issue, but nothing has worked. Must I really just load someone else's save and miss a chunk of the game? I mean, how did THEY manage to get past the crashes?!

The game looks really interesting. I'm totally down for some "B-movie" style ghost game. The graphics and control don't bother me at all, I think they are kinda fun actually. How worth it is it to keep trying to get this to work?

It's an awesome but niche game, full of charm, personality and strangeness. For those that know of it, it seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of deal. If you're a fan of Twin Peaks you'll be able to appreciate it on another level (as it takes a LOT of inspiration from the series).

This is half a year later so I don't know if you ever got it to work, but if it's still in your backlog, I'd say keep fishing around for a fix with everyone else who got it on PC, and see if you can't find a solution. It's truly a unique and interesting game.

That said, in the end it is just a game, so don't drive yourself crazy trying to get it to work. As a last resort, there are other systems you can try to play it on if you really want to.
