I think some of you GOG members need to get off of your high horse and cease your bigotry over STEAM. STEAM is a fantastic business model, and one which I hope that GOG picks up off of, especially in terms of multiplayer...

Deadly Premonition is originally designed as a hokey, fantastic game and it has lost a potential fanbase over the lack of configurability upon the PC port. Any of those who cannot enjoy what they purchased should know the virtue of patience and that the solutions are on the way.

In the meantime, I think I'll just play this on my 360.

We're not complaining about Steam business model but about some of their community members attitude.('lo res! burn with fire!").
Steam deserves nothing but big thanks in this case, for helping this port happen. Rising Star deserves another big thanks for allowing DRM-free release of the game.

I'm enjoying it on PC just as it is :)

leeho730: I'm not worried about locked 720p resolution either. Controller support, on the other hand...

I guess in general our average age is higher than that of Steam users... And we're used to playing the old games using dosbox with x2 scaling, 720p is freaking gorgeous in comparison... And, also there are more customers in Steam than in GoG.

Some are insisting that the game be taken down from Steam Store etc etc... Quite extreme, in my opinion. The only misleading behaviour by the company seems the "partial controller support" claim on Steam Store page. GoG doesn't say that... And once it's fixed I'll stick to GoG version anyway, hopefully GoG will not take it down from the store!
I'm not sure, sometimes when there's smoke there's fire (even when it's overly excessive amounts of smoke). There are quite a few people, even over on NeoGAF, that are talking about game breaking issues.

leeho730: Controller support is the only thing that prevents me from buying at the moment.
Well, if the Director's Cut's gameplay is similar to the X360's, then it really doesn't matter how you play this game.
DP's gameplay was outdated, even if it was released on a PS2 and that's the charme of this game. Besides many other things.

I'm considering buying DP sometime. But since I already own the X360-Version, I'm putting the decision on hold. Maybe once it's on sale. I'm curious about what is changed. I know about the car controls being better. How about the map?
