emilio_at_ziggurat: We welcome all feedback you'd like to see for current features in future versions of the game! We want to give players a platform to give us feedback to make Deadly Dozen Reloaded the best game it can be.
First, let me say that it's great to see you bringing the Deadly Dozen franchise back to life! I can only hope this will mean future Deadly Dozen games released as well. I'm ready for the Pacific Theater! With that said...
... the sound design and voice acting severely undermine the DDR gameplay experience. Voice acting that often sounds like developers recording in a closet should never have made it to release... and the environmental sounds on maps like Operation Overlord are mediocre, sparse, and make the level feel hollow and false. If possible, please take the time post-launch to work on the sound design. This alone would elevate the gameplay experience TREMENDOUSLY.
As for a mechanic that hopefully could be added into DDR or a sequel: vaulting. While DDR is generally about "guiding" the player through gameplay events, having shorter walls and fences that can be vaulted (with larger walls and fences that cannot be climbed or vaulted) would give more of a feeling of freedom to map layouts. While the current map layouts are very similar to the original game, slight changes would have made Reloaded feel much more current.
Lastly, a bit more variation on enemy AI reaction, evasion, and tactics is always welcomed. The biggest fear is getting a rinse-and-repeat feeling in every encounter... and where that could be forgiven in the original, Reloaded feels like it should be a bit more of a step forward.
Overall, I'm really happy that you are bringing Deadly Dozen back. It's been a cult hit that could develop into something GREAT (maybe akin to a new Hidden & Dangerous?)... but it needs a bit more fine-tuning. As it stands DDR feels a bit like an early proof-of-concept with which to develop a new series... or a really great graphics MOD of the original. I hope this doesn't sound too disheartening. I know you all worked hard on this, but I'm only being critical because I'm a fan of the series and want to see it (and you) succeed. I'd love to see Deadly Dozen pick up the Hidden & Dangerous mantle or reach into the squad / team equivalent of something like Rebellion's Sniper Elite series!!
Take care and will be anticipating more Deadly Dozen from N-fusion and Ziggurat!
