I have an old, cracked version of Deadlock, and as I enjoy playing the game, I bought it as soon as I saw that it was available on GOG.

However, I was very disappointed that the multi-player option is removed in the GOG version. Why was that removed, and will it be reinstated in the future?

Are you sure you're not thinking of Deadlock 2?

The GoG version straight up ripped out the multiplayer.

I attempted to make a hybrid version using my old excecutible (off my original disc) and the DLLs included in the GoG package. It partially worked, however when I attempted to "see" the game I made in my Virtual Machine, it could not. (Protocol issue, either IPX/SPX or NetBios based architechture)

In the end, the only way to play Deadlock 1 multiplayer is to have the original disc(s) and use Windows 98. (Real or emulated)

EDIT: Actually, I believe Windows XP kept the IPX/SPX protocols active, and you could probably get it to work on that platform as well.

GOG has never disappointed me, until now.

And what a whopper of a disappointment. I don't think I'll be buying any more games from this site until this is rectified.

GOG removed multiplayer from DL1 becuase is totaly unstable.
On "modern" system (anything after Win XP) don't work at all, on "old" system (Win 95, 98, XP) have some big problem like no audio and corrupted immage.
