I spent a lot of time playing the first one back when it came out and would very much like to try it again. How does it run on win7 though? I've heard about some issues with win 8.1. Can it be run fullscreen? windowed? are the vids working? Also I'm not liking the look of the interface of 2. Can it be scaled to take up less of the screen?

Can't wait to fire up those Replication plants again and build me some Disruptor cannons :P

Edit : Well Deadlock 1 runs without a hitch :D all the vids seem to be working 100%

Well, I enjoyed Deadlock 2 more when it came out, so I've been playing it on my Windows 7 PC. It plays in the same way the original did. I believe DL1 was only windowed while DL2 was only fullscreen. I don't have to slow my CPU to play the game with this copy. I did encounter the old bug where right-clicking a unit to set it's mission would crash the game (repeatable) but I uncompressed the saves folder and it seemed to have stopped, so just make sure there's no file compression to the game folders.

Cool thanks! I'll probably check out 2 some time then. I'm especially curious to see how many extra techs they added.

There's only a handful of new techs, but some of them are really cool. For example, there's Advanced Structures which allows you to build Sea Colonizers to colonize ocean tiles with Sea Platforms. Sea Platforms also have some unique buildings like the Weather Control Station, which can be immensely overpowered depending on the current map you're playing. Weather Control stations boost farm production in adjacent friendly territories and hide them from orbital surveillance AND they also cause flooding (which damages buildings) and they cause airplanes/missiles to crash in adjacent enemy territories. I ended up wiping out the Human Landing in my last game just by having two adjacent Weather Control Stations. However, Sea Platforms can be more difficult to defend than normal colonies because you can only build up to 4 buildings and there are only two types of defense buildings you can build (Torpedo Forts and Flak Launchers), each of which only defends against one type of unit.

I'm running Windows 7 with widescreen resolution, and Deadlock 1 does fine there. Played hours and hours with it, on both a laptop and PC. I can maximize the window, but don't see a way to play it fullscreen - I'm curious if someone has played it otherwise.
