I think there's some significant coding difference between the Steam and GOG versions (patches?). I've been unable to mod certain files, with my GOG version while others seem to have no problem modding their Steam version.
I seem to be able to edit and mod any files from /scripts/data/core with no problems or issues, using Untorque. Yet when I try to mod/edit files from /scripts/data/campaign it always seems to instantly cause a murder at the shelter for no reason. Even on the morning of Day 2 at 8:am before anything else happens (such as the job board creation) and she is not even at the shelter yet.
The file I've tried to edit in the /campaign folder are master_events. I've carefully checked my edit, even something as simple as removing a gender check, causes the crisis. While I'm no expert, as I mentioned I can edit any of the files in /core without incident (baring my mistakes). Additionally I can download a mod, which does the exact same edit/mod from someone with a Steam version of the game, it causes the same crisis.
Wondering if there are any other possible causes other than some "unknown' (?) coding differences between Steam and GOG? Why is there a difference and what can GOG version owners who want to mod, do?
Thanks
