Haha. Came across totally by accident. It`s in the junkyard, head West.

And bring some guns. :)

Maybe it's semi-random where it appears?

Guns because the leader of the junkyard carries it (not random). And you can get pretty easily swarmed in that area if you go there with only melee weapons.

Sorry, my "really" wasn't about bringing guns, it was supposed to be expressing surprise that it was in the junkyard, since I thought it was in the military base.

But now that I think about it I confused it with a different unique melee weapon. D'oh!

And yes, that particular area can get pretty nasty - I had mostly gun-toting guys with me and I still almost had one die on me. One of the few fights in the game where I actually had to be wary of the enemy, since I didn't have much in the way of armor when I checked this place out.

Anyway, yea, it`s hard in the junkyard and I had to carefully bait units, leave and come back later before I finally conquered it. those dogs can be a pain as they tend to mess things up even though they can`t really do much damage.
