first of thanks for putting this on GOG so I can avoid giving Valve any money.

second of are you going to keep the gog-version up to date at the same rate as the steam version or are you going to pull an Armello and dick over the gog users?
Can't speak for the devs, but it's at least starting well what with there having already been three updates since release.

Also through Galaxy leaderboards for daily runs seem to be running, so with online connectivity it already seems ways ahead of where Armello apparently ended.

Here's hoping they'll keep it up :-)
To add to that, you only need Galaxy to upload your score and not to do the Daily Runs, the Steam and GOG leaderboards are shared instead of separate and updates have been uploaded almost equally fast as the Steam updates so far. As far as an In Development/Early Access game goes, their support has been excellent.

does the game require galaxy?
Like Fortuk already said: No.

To be precise, it does not require Galaxy to access any of the game's content - none of the gameplay features require it. The game is played almost entirely off-line and you only temporarily need an active internet connection if you want to do the Daily Runs.

The only thing you need Galaxy for is to upload a score to the Daily Run leaderboards, but there is no in-game benefit to doing this and you can still check what the high scores are without using Galaxy.
Also, you only get achievements if you run it through Galaxy...But then again, that's because the achievements are Galaxy achievements so that kinda makes sense ;-)
We got another update (number was bumped to 0.4.8), same day as steam version as far I know. As of now, GOG version doesn't look like second class citizen (which is sadly the case with some games).

Q: Will this (ALPHA Branch of Dead Cells) be playable on the GOG version as well?

A: No. All alphas and betas will only be playable on steam. Otherwise the version control is a maaaaasive pain in the but. GoG will continue to receive all major updates the same day that we put them live on the main branch here.

AFAIK we got The Foundry Update the same day here on GOG. There was no notification of this, but I have beaten Assassin twice since then, unlocking some mutations and even upgrading some weapons.

Can you check your version? I'm attaching a screenshot, showing what we got now on GOG.

Yes, I'm using GOG Galaxy and you are right - only version 0.4.8 is available for offline installation. This is bad, I've just send email to Motion Twin raising those issue - we will see what devs have to say.

I don't think this is a dev issue, GOG are the ones that are meant to provide the offline installers since they already have the Galaxy one. Usually we get them a few days after Galaxy but maybe Xmas has delayed the offline installer update.
