So version 1.1.0 ( and then 1.1.1 & 1.1.2) has been out since the 8th of the month, are we getting the update on GoG or not?

Not entirely sure how it works but I *think* these are an Alpha branch - so will lead up to a major release? When I read through the Steam page you need to opt-in to their Beta option to get access to v1.1.x - currently up to 1.1.4 as of a couple of days ago.

It's a valid question but I get why GOG would wait for a major release before pushing it out (and I am a massive Dead Cells fan with *far* too many hours sunk into it) :-)
The developers stated in the comments of the "How do I ACCESS THE ALPHA?" post of the Steam Dead Cells Alpha Branch Forum (sorry, can't post a link):

Q:"Will this be playable on the GOG version as well?"

Devs: "No. All alphas and betas will only be playable on steam. Otherwise the version control is a maaaaasive pain in the but. GoG will continue to receive all major updates the same day that we put them live on the main branch here."

So no, we probably won't get the minor versions (1.1.0 - 1.1.?) of the alpha channel, but when there is a stable major release, we will get it, too.
Awesome - thanks for the clarification.

Can't wait, sounds like a few major changes coming up and happy to wait until it's all balanced. Can't say I've enjoyed a game as much as Dead Cells for quite some time.
This was posted on Steam (1.1 is still in alpha):

We've got ideas for a billion different things that we hope to bring to the game at some stage. We'll keep you posted on what we eventually do get around to trying.

As for people asking about updates on other platforms. Yes! We will of course get them over there, however for production reasons we test everything over here on Steam through an alpha and then a beta branch before deploying them to the main branch for everyone on PC, then everyone on console once we've gone through the certification process (which can take a while).

Basically the process is:
- We build it and try and make it playable.
- Alpha on steam for those who like bugs.
- Beta on steam for last checking and testing on more machines.
- Release to all PC platforms (GoG etc).
- Certification process for all consoles.
- Release to consoles once we're approved.

We will get a new version once it's stable. Have faith, people.
