This changes the behavior for non-QWERTY keyboards so it makes more sense, in particular for french AZERTY, there are two options:

a) If you set the windows keyboard language to English, the default configuration will just work (you will be able to use the right keys to move the camera around) but the prompts will be wrong.

b) If you set the windows keyboard to French, the default configuration will be wrong, but you can remap the keys in the settings and then all the button prompts will be correct.

Check out youtube channel "Queenbee" with video "Future of Dawn of Man - Best Mods, Installing Mods & How to Mod." She provides links in the description that will give you the resources to do modding. With this, you may be able to look inside of the mod yourself and 'update' it so that it will work. She also mentions the Steam forums (for this game) have a vibrant modding community and (if you look at the screen while she is speaking about it) shows how to access it. There may be someone there that can help.

Best of luck! I hope you find the help that you need to get them running again, or find updated versions.
