I've discovered tanning. I have plenty of skins (raw and dried) and I have plenty of tannin. I created a queue of leathers for my people to make but the queue just sits there and no one makes them. Am I missing something or is this just a bug?

Thanks,

Have you used the priority button? Also, check how many tasks you have under Management -> Tasks. Is the task there at all? If not, I guess you have a glitch.
Yeah, at one point I had my workload down to 0% and the crafter set to high priority and they still weren't being made, so I guess it's a bug.
They do produce leather but I noticed that even with 3 of them it's a very slow process. Not sure if intended.

Thanks,
i´ve also the same issue. it doesn´t work after i had produced over 130 leather. i also tried to priorize the production, but it doesn´t work.
I had the same problem; it turns out dried skins can't be used to make leather (only raw skins work) and drying racks seem to be prioritized over tanning even if you set tanning to high priority. I turned off my drying racks and it solved the issue.

Thank you very much! This was the cause and i didn´t realize it. Problem solved!
Set limit to dryskins to 20-30 it should be enough and you do not have to manually set anything. The game prioritize dryskins becuase they are more important in early-mid game - you need them for building, repairs and winter clothes while leather is rather optional luxury just for summer clothes which is not needed or transportation. While in late game dryskin is only useful for totems and their upkeep so when you enter late game with wool clothes and mud/straw buildings, linen bows/fishing rods feel free to lower dryskin limit to 10-15. I have noticed that raw skins are first brought to dry skin rack and than to tannery, if you have too many racks, than it is possible that all raw skins end drying.

I finally figured it out. I didn't realize you had to construct a tanner first. I got my leathers made now.

Thanks,
Build a Tanner. Make Work Area for Tannin. The Tanner uses Raw Skin + Tannin. Set Tanner to Prioritize (arrow up). Wait for Spring and the Tanner should make leather if you have set the task to do Leather in the Tanner.
