Jazzy-J mentioned in the sales thread (http://www.gog.com/forum/general/classic_gem_promo_darkstone/page3) that he had found some screen resolution fixes on another forum. There are currently three new resolutions, and I can confirm that they work with Windoze 7 64-bit just fine. Please note that, due to some elements being hard-coded into the engine, some graphical glitches remain (cursor ghosting, your toolbar is stretched, inventory is teeny). Some people may be fine with this (personally, I'm fine with the original resolution).

Just rename your original Darkstone.exe and pop the new one in the same directory.

There are three fixes by "jackfuste" for Darkstone v.1.0.5B: 1920x1080, 1360x768, and 1280x720. They can be found at http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=25669

Aw maaan. You posted this the same day I that spent hours and hours trying to achieve just that. Just my luck. By now I have gotten over it and just play with the 640x480 resolution but with maxed out AA settings (external ones set in the Nvidia Control Panel, not the game's own AA which doesn't seem to do much). I think I'll actually stick to that soft image that a low resolution with lots of AA generates (I consider it rather charming, actually - also it covers up the low model details).

Guess I'll give it a try but considering the interface glitches I'll probably go back to the original resolution. Still, thank you very much for this!

Edit: Just tried it. Yeah, it's a little too glitchy for now. Let's hope the fella who made this basic fix is going to improve it.
