There is a well documented gold cheat on the internet. Where in you fill up your inventory expect for 2slots. one slot with 10k gold and the other with 1gold. your susposed to drop the 10k on the gorund, fillup that slot. so there is no open slots. you pickup the 10k off the ground and it is susposed to duplicate by making ur 1g into 10k while leaving the 10k on the ground.

its on like 10 different sites and ive tried it serveral times but no luck. ANYONE HAVE A THOUGHT

I never heard of a "gold" cheat for this game; new to me.

You can try Editor cheat: download the Quest Editor, create overland buildings filled with breakables, since containers on the surface generate much much more gold than the same containers in the dungeon. Save the Quest, load the Quest, find the building, and start smashing. Save, start a new game, repeat.

For the big cheat, load the building with chest machines that drop stat potions to use or sell.

I myself personally never had money problems with this game, just aging problems. Enjoy!
Yeah, I remember that gold cheat. It still worked on my CD copies when I ran it on Win7. Except you don't use 2 open slots, just one, that's filled with less than 10k gold (doesn't have to be 1, specifically). Maybe that's why it's not working for you - you're using two slots?

It's possible GoG's conversion version removed it somehow, but I don't know since I don't have GoG's version.

But I also agree that generally speaking, money isn't a problem in this game. By the time you really want the money, you'll have lots of it.
I played this game back in the day... They have definitely removed it. I've tried six ways to Sunday to get it working. It just isn't available anymore!
Ages ago when the game came out, folks complained about stupid AI, the game being too easy and a lousy gold cheat. So after a few minor patches, a big patch came out that fixed them all. From my memory of a long, long time ago, they doubled the monster HP, monsters could open doors and wander around levels (before if you closed a door, the monsters would all stop -- so a tactic was to open a door, let a monster through, close the door, kill it, drink some potions if needed, repeat) and they removed the gold cheat (the technique could dupe items too if memory serves me).

If you want a lot of money fast for the early part of the game, you can start a game with a cleric and a character you intend to use. Give the cleric's gear to your character and sell it all.

Then start a new game and do it again.

You get lots of money fast that way.

However, if you want the full experience of the game, just play like normal. There's plenty of money in the game to get what you need to beat it several times over.
