Is this a known issue or a known issue with galaxy? It never happened before! Yesterday, i installed it and tested it, it was all fine. Couldn't find a setup or something to change the resolution but I thought I will look for that tomorrow.

I come back today, Darkstone is not installed... Galaxy remembered I played it for a bit though...

EDIT: GOG galaxy is confused. It won't reinstall or verify, it says it has a disc error for darkstone? I check my harddisk the game is still there, so I manually uninstalled it. After trying to reinstall it, it says the same message: Disk access problem...

come to think of it a week ago I had another issue with galaxy: somehow it updated tomb raider 3 and changed the ini file so that the game wouldn't have any sound....

I'm getting the same problem. All the game files are there except for Darkstone.exe. It suddenly disappeared when I was trying to get multiplayer to work via Gameranger between my desktop and my laptop. Like literally the game launched on my desktop after hosting, it was in the character creation screen for a few seconds, and then it crashed (because the exe self-deleted apparently). It feels a lot like DRM...

When I tried to install via Galaxy, the same thing happened as the last post: INSTALLATION FAILED: DISK ACCESS PROBLEM.

I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall everything... dealing with slow internet with limited data here.

I just had Darkstone uninstall itself- played one night, next night went to play and all files were there except .exe file. I do not use Galaxy and this is the second GOG game that has uninstalled the .exe file by itself. Very frustrating!
This is an update - turns out the GOG file is not to blame for the removal of the .exe file - my virus software removed the GOG files because it deemed them a "virus". Check your virus vault if your programs have been uninstalled (I am using Avast Antivirus)
