Backstory:
I've begun making character skins for friends
During the process I need to have access to all the armor types so I can see how the models look, then clean up what I can. (Also have the character leveled up to wear them)

Issue:
It would be very useful to have a character/save editor to add levels/items so I don't have to level up every class in the game in order to complete skins for classes I do not play (I have a sorc and warrior, yet my friend wants a thief skin so I'm stuck leveling a thief).
Does anyone still have one of the old editors?

Concept:
Here's a thief skin I've been working on for about 20 hours, but I can't continue it until leveled/geared.

Old editors are usually not compatible with version v1.05B.
You should use this one:
https://github.com/Jonathan-Chandler/Darkstone-Trainer
I had tried this editor, but I had an issue with launching it sadly. I created an issue on github but the author has been silent.

I used this editor on many PCs back then and it worked pretty well.
You should try a different PC or a virtual machine maybe.

UPD: I tried it now and have the very same problem as you.
"cannot proceed because libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll", yes.

It seems it was not statically linked or whatever. Not a big deal, you should just add dependencies from GCC:
libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll
libstdc++-6.dll
libwinpthread-1.dll
or recompile from source and it will work.

I reuploaded it with dependencies, if needed.
darkstone-trainer-v105bUS
mirror is here

I tested it, works fine. At least, for me

I was also trying to use this editor and I was having the same issue with the missing files.

But now everything works just fine with the dependencies you provided in your link.

Thank you very much!

Hi guys,

Here is what I have when I tried the trainer :

Found DarkStone DSI window
ERROR::src/process_info.cpp::150::openProcessHandle - Failed to get handle for process
ERROR::src/trainer.cpp::52::DarkstoneTrainer - Failed to open Darkstone process handle
Appuyez sur une touche pour continuer...

When I launch it without DarkStone open, it work fine
Found the problem, must run the trainer in admin mode, like the game :)
