Hi,

What do you recommend for Single Player ?
One character or two ?
If so which two characters go together ? I remember playing warrior/sorceress in the demo and it was ok , however i did have the AI mess up a couple of times on me.
What would you recommend for a fulfilling single player game ?

I've only played Darkstone on the PlayStation previously, so I'm used to only having one character. I've played through the game with the Warrior/Amazon and the Thief/Assassin. Since I'm fairly used to these characters, I'm planning to try running both in the PC version and have the computer primarily control the Warrior/Amazon while I run the Thief/Assassin. It should be fun. :)

Overall best is according to your play style. The game should be able to be completed with any character.

Thanks for the reply Flynn.
I long thought my thread was going to be lost into obscurity without a single reply.
Good to know it will be lost into obscurity with at least one reply :)

After trying it out, I'm hoping to find a way to change the computer's AI to be more aggressive when controlling the Warrior. He doesn't seem to charge into the monster hoards. Half the time he kind of stands there until the monsters mob my thief and then maybe attacks the edge monster. I may just run a single character like I used to on the PlayStation.

I played with just a warrior, but just to warn you, the last boss fight is very tough with just one character. Beatable, but very challenging.

Yes, it is. On the PlayStation version, you only had one character and if I remember correctly, the boss wasn't changed at all. The only thing I remember being changed was one quest was removed that required two characters, and there's no training academy in the town.

I normally just use the assassin or the priest(alone not together) and as for the final boss i can beat it with one character just fine i just bring lots of mana potions and use reflections(if i'm playing as the priest i use magic bomb mostly its pretty powerful and its rate of fire is one of the best it the game.)

The Assassin/Thief is what I used in the PlayStation version. I also ran a separate Warrior. I think this next time, I'm going to try the Priest. Never ran one before.

Thing I remember from the PS version is saving up as much money as I could and buying a ton of stat increasing items from the magic shop. Between that and a ton of Magic Door scrolls and potions, I had a fairly good romp through the game.

Oh, remembered another thing not in the PS version -- no bank. But, you could click on the money bag by the bards in town to donate a gold and hear the Darkstone theme song with full vocals. Doesn't seem to work on the PC version. Tried it with both the disc and GOG version.

It worked for me (GOG version was the only one I ever played), don't remember the exact procedure to get them to do that, though.
