I could have sworn I read something somewhere about being able to find/buy bags somewhere in Darkstone. (Characters don't have NEARLY enough inventory space in this game!)

Does anyone know if they actually exist, and if so, how long I need to drudge along until I find one?

Sadly Mate. There was never any bags for the inventory that I know of. I played the game from beginning to end and never upgraded my inventory space.

The best solution to a full inventory is to invest in one of those teleport-to-town spells. :)

You can safely leave everything on the floor in the middle of town. Items won't disappear, even if you leave and reload the game. I used the Magic Door spell to quickly go back to town whenever I needed.
