Hi. I bought a DVD version of Darkstar One, I'm having trouble with the installation. This is the only place I could find that was still discussing the game. The official game forum only discusses the 360 version and the dev and publishers websites seem to be defunct, which is not helpful.

I was hoping someone might be able to give me a suggestion even though you probably haven't encountered this error since you downloaded the game. The problem is an error message during installation that says "darkstarone.exe An error occured while trying to read the source file. Access is denied."

I quit and tried again but got the same thing. So the next time I hit Ignore and it finished the installation. But when I try to launch the game it says "One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found Opcode.dll"

The thing is I checked and that file is there in the game directory.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a bad disk. Try copying the contents of the disk to a directory on your hard drive and running the install from there. If the copy fails, then you either have a bad disk or your DVD drive is having some kind of problem.
