For some reasons, while playing DSWE (through galaxy) even though i set a different language in-game, after I close and start it again, the language resets to the default os language. Nothing really gamebreaking, but I'm curious to know if somebody else is facing the same issue I am.

Same problem here. Audio language setting (and all other settings) is saves just fine, but text language is always reverts to default when I restart the game.

Can confirm this, too.

Just bought it on the Sale and wanted to make a topic about exactly the same problem! It seems like it doesn't matter if you start the game from GOG Galaxy or from your dekstop (without starting g.galaxy) it will always set the gamelanguage to my Windows language, even though I set the game to english before...


Any config file I can set to "write only", to solve this problem?

Try the Darksiders.cfg file in the Darksiders\config folder.

The value is already set correctly in the ini file. Obviously it is not read by the game

Imhaving this issue too the value is set to en in the ini and it resets to portuguese brasil ... every time i turn on the game.
I tried setting the ini to read only dosent work.

As of the latest patch this is still not fixed.

Apparently everybody is experiencing that.

I added several lines into config.ini, but no success. E.g:

text_language=en
subtitle_language=en
display_language=en
audio_language=en

I'm pretty sure at this point that interface wise, the game reads the OS language rather than the one from the config.

You need to change your system's regional settings.
I was wondering why the game wasn't english even though my system was. Turned out to be regional, not language settings.
It's a pain in the ass and definitely lowers my rating of the game.
