I can't get Darksiders to launch at all.

First it reports missing MFPlat.dll and MFReadWrite.dll. I got those two manually, because reinstalling Visual C++, nor DirectX didn't work.
Then it reports not being able to launch due to 0xc000007b error - launching in Compatibility Modes for WinXP, Win7, as administrator, nothing works.

I have a same problem on Win 8,1, MFPlat.DLL is missing,
You have to download and install the Media Feature Pack for N Versions of Windows 10 from here

or for Windows 8.1 from here to solve the problem with the missing MFPlat.dll and MFReadWrite.dll

About the "0xc000007b" error, please watch this video , download the .dll-package from the link beneath the video and follow the instructions in the clip. Hopefully, this will work for you.
