Has anyone had any luck trying to edit the games controls while using a gamepad?

I know when using a keyboard theres the rather hidden section in Deaths moves, where you can edit
keyboard bindings to whatever you wish. But this disappears when playing the game with a gamepad.

Ive found a gamepad.gcon file in Appdata Local, but cant really figure out what to do with this otherwise.
It seems if someone put a bit of trail and error with a Hex editor you might be able to get some luck swapping
gamepad bindings around, but I havent been able to get any luck so far.

Ive also tried editing my button bindings with x360ce, but the game seems to ignore those files and just pick up
the gamepad normally.

If anyone has had any luck with this, it would be greatly appreciated if you could help me out.
