malthaussen: Yes, in Darklands you really need to take notes, and lots of them. Fortunately, Darklands.net has a useful tool to help out: DKNotes. This is basically a Word document with all the towns listed and spaces to indicate what products they sell, the quality, etc. You just need to keep a copy for each game you start (since some things are random), and fill it in as you go on. Best of all, no paper, so you won't suffer from "Where did I put that note folder again" syndrome, which was chronic among RPG players in the 90's. Or you could print out the forms if you don't want to alt-tab out of the game all the time.
