I would really like to buy Darklands (for PC) here, but I want to make real sure that it is the most recent version (which I assume) but, more importantly, that the sounds (and voices) and music really work.
I came across multiple versions all over the internets, but I have not found anything that plays both music and sounds (and voices) correctly (under Dosbox, of course).
I have tried with various setups and even computers, but to no avail.
So, if I buy this here on Gog, will it play sounds (incl. voice) and music correctly?

I use a Toshiba laptop and have tried all of the suggestions but could not fix the sound. my old roommate used an older computer and did not have any issues with sound.
