Hello everyone,

When I start Darklands it begins with music and the intro (version 483.07, Copyright 1992 Microprose etc.) but then I get a blank screen with the the music still playing. Ctrl-Alt-Enter brings me out of fullscreen where Darklands sits working perfectly in a small window, but way too small to play. Another Ctrl-Alt-Enter and I get back to fullscreen but the mouse doesn't work nor does Ctrl-10 help. I'm on Windows 7, 1600x900 HD screen, Dosbox set to:

which is the 'factory' setting I downloaded. Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you try the Graphic Mode Setup? You can find the Graphic Mode Setup in the shortcut lists in the Start Menu. Try the different ones to see if any make a difference.

You could also increase the game window size. So instead of the window being small, you could make it to any size you want. Even playing it in a window, but making it full screen should work(so you play in a window that's set to your screen's resolution for example, like lots of people do in newer games as well).

Hmm, that's all I can think of.

Thanks for the reply Kadlin, it was very helpful. I tried the window resolution trick (changed windowresolution=Original to windowresolution=1600x900) but no luck, so I ran the graphic mode setup, picked OpenGL for no specific reason and bingo it worked! I wouldn't have thought to look in the start menu for a solution so thank you very much for pointing that out :).
