Rufert: Yeah the copy protection is obnoxious. Mainly due to the fact you can't tab back into the game without it recognizing it as an input, giving it a three in four chance of closing instantly.

I´ve made two patches for Darklands 483.07 German and English Version (exactly as provided by GOG) in an attempt to fully remove the protection:

Just start the SFX Installer for the correct language and extract into the Directory where darkland.exe resides. After install, it will automatically launch my .bat File - Press Enter. My Batch File will now patch your darkland.exe with my .diff File. More Detail: It will create a new .exe File, deleting your darkland.exe and rename the patched File to darkland.exe

After all is done, the Patch Files (HDiffPatch, patch.bat and the diff File) will then be automatically cleaned from the Game Directory. You should now not encounter any more Protection Challenges. Please do not attempt to patch the File twice, as this will lead to errors.

Reports, especially from more experienced players who further progressed into the game than me, are very welcome. In theory there shouldn‘t be any bugs as I very carefully applied a small byte patch, but I didn‘t complete the game, so who knows?
