While poking around Darklands' installer executable, I noted there's an option to use the MT-32 as a sound device. Although I don't have an MT-32 to test this myself, it made me curious as to whether the game loads any custom instruments or digital sounds into the MT-32 when it's used. If someone could please help me figure this out, I'd really appreciate it!
