I have a party member with poor alchemic skills with 4 formulas. Can they give these to a party member with better skills?

Also, when dealing with alchemists, etc, how do I ensure that only the party member with the best skills gets formulas (either by exchange or by purchasing) from them?

1. AFAIK, no.
2. Let the guy with the best alchemy skill be the active character in these situations. This is
why Latin and Religion are important secondary skills for alchemists, to get snooty
alcemists, academics and high ranking members of the clergy to even deign talking to you. They
won't deal with pessents.

When you say "active" character, do you mean I must set them to be party leader before I enter the dialogue?

Cheers,

Yes
_Now_ he tells me... Blah....

My party leader had the highest Charisma and Spoken Common, so I left as such. When trading formula, my primary Alchemist (Alchemy 45) was moved to the #1 position while the usual spokeswoman (Alchemy 7) was shifted to #4. Actually it didn't matter which position I put her or the Alchemist in; she _always_ was the recipient of the traded formulas. Was driving me buggy, which is why I stopped in here. Should have done so MUCH sooner. Now I have someone with Alchemy 7 hoarding @12 formula while my Alchemist is trying to get by with 5. Bleah.

Nevertheless, thank you for the enlightenment

Now, time to start over ... again.

I'm in the same boat; my charimatic party leader has loads of alchemic formulas now because when I ask to swap with an alchemist, I simply keep forgetting to set my alchemist as party leader. Still, I do have a sufficient number of formulae that I haven't been tempted to restart.

Let's try this again; the last posting attempt just vanished into the Twilight Zone.

When making a new Alchemist when you start over because all of the formulas were ending up with the wrong party member, make sure that you also give him or her a respectable Charisma and Speak Common. This is significant because if either/both of those are low, when you try to trade formulas with alchemists in towns, what you usually get instead of a formula is "Begone!" [Might as well set up the party alchemist to be the party spokesman anyway. That lets the other three members to spend their EPs on Attributes other than Charisma.]
