I've been given the quest to get rid of a Raubritter by the Duke of Bavaria and now I've found the castle. I have snuck in at night, killed him multiple times, but the battle just won't end. I can go up and down the stairs, but to no avail and if I leave through the exit, the game tells me I have fled. How do I get the game to accept that the robber knight has been killed?

IIRC, you must kill everyone in the castle/tower. There is probably still someone there that you have missed.
