I've encountered a game breaking issue for me. The game crashes randomly when I look at items or try assign them. I can reproduce it reliably. The behavior looks something like this:

1. I start the game and load my savegame
2. Starting to embark on a new dungeon run
3. Open my item stash and trying to find the right items so I can assign them to a member of the group
4. after moving the mouse over various items 5-10 seconds the game freezes and crashes back to desktop

Solutions I've attempted:
1. Installing latest Nvidia drivers (Feb 2019 - prev. version was from Nov 2018)
2. Activating Vsync overall (also tried deactivating completely)
3. Switching from full screen to window mode
4. Repairing the game
5. Uninstalling and re-installing the game
6. Running game in Win8, Win7, WinXP compatility mode and as an administrator
7. Game is not blocked by Bitdefender (enabled it during first execution)
8. Restarted PC after video driver update

So as you can see I've tried quite a few solutions but nothing is working. Does anyone else have suggestions?

Here are some of my system details:

Well, I still have some standard questions like:
* are you using any mods?
* which, if any, DLC?
* is it only that particular save file, or does it happen with all saves?
* what did you do in the game before it started happening? Did anything usual happen?

At a guess it could be caused by a corrupted save file; or a problem with a mod. But in the end, the fact is that we probably can't help you anyway. If you really want technical support, then you should contact Red Hook.
Regarding your questions:

1. no mods
2. Musketeer DLC only
3. two seperate save files with the same issue - (first over 20 hours in - second go is very early on but tested for this issue specifically)
4. Nothing in particular. It happens in the town as well as inside the dungeons when I find items inside dungeons. Sometimes I want to check the items and possibly switch something out. In the town it happens everywhere whenever I check items

Interesting thing though - It seems to be limited to the GOG version as I haven't encountered it in the Steam version yet. Btw. I'm keeping the game up to date through the GOG client. I checked and both versions seem to be based on 24787
This probably isn't the answer, but could it be something to do with the game's language setting? I only mention this because a problem I experienced in another game (different game, different problem, so this is likely nothing) was solved by just switching the game language (in that case from English to German) for that part. Maybe some of the German item names are bugged? I would also consider trying to roll back to an earlier version of the game to see if the most up to date is the problem. As the other poster mentioned though, you'd still do best by contacting Red Hook and seeing what they can tell you. Aside from that, I don't have any other ideas. Good luck, I hope it gets resolved for you.
I considered that as well. I usually play it in English and I tried switching it to German. It didn't help. My fix right now is pretty much just playing it on Steam.
Did you really buy it here as well as on Steam? Why?

Have you contacted Red Hook technical support about your problem?

It's weird that you're posting on the GOG forums about Steam instead of posting to Red Hook about your problem. It's just as easy to talk to Red Hook as it is to talk to us, and they are the only people in a position to help. I suppose GOG technical support might help too... but in any case, I think it would be a fluke if anyone on this community forum could help you.
Did you ever find a solution to this?

I have the exact same problem, crashing when mousing over trinkets and the save being corrupted.

Initially, I only bought the base game and never saw this crash. When I bought the DLCs and installed them, then this crash started happening. I think it might be the Musketeer DLC.

I am going to play without it and see if the crashing still happens.
I only have the Musketeer DLC enabled (plus a couple of classes mods since yesterday). The DLC was since several days ago and I haven't experienced anything like this.

The game was initiated in the base game and the musketeer DLC was added onto it after several weeks in the game. Radiant mode, English language.

How does the musketeer work anyway? Is it just a clone of Arbalest class files save art placed in a different path? In the roster I am not seeing new arbalests yet I get trinkets for them. I suppose it's a rng issue since I am not seeing some classes either.

I have played without the DLC and still experience the crashing with the trinkets. The crash does not happen every time and you can sometimes play for a couple of hours without a crash - which I would not recommend.

The crash will corrupt your save file but not your backup file. If you play for a couple of hours, then you will lose all progress since the game only backups when you properly exit the game.

The only fix at this time, is to quit the game and restart it after every mission and do not switch or mouse over tinkets in a mission. Then the game will only crash before starting a mission and you don't lose any progress.

I have sent a save file to Red Hook that reproduces the crashing on my machine.

The Musketeer is the same thing as the Arbalest, but with a couple of different trinkets. They will show up occassionally to recruit in the stage coach throughout the game (took about 6 weeks before I saw one). It was a reward for the kickstarter backers that was released to everyone for free a year or two after the kickstarter ended.
Well, I have not heard back from Red Hook. So it seems the only fix for this problem is to save after every mission.

I am tired of exiting the game and restarting to backup my game after every dungeon, so I am done with this game.

Just posting in case if someone wanted to know if there was a solution from Red Hook.
