It refers to a backdoor piece of spyware that has no business being in a game installation. It's not a false positive. I know that can happen with certain game engines, but this is a legitimately dangerous program that's commonly used to backdoor programs onto others' PCs. We're not talking a kernel-level anti-cheat or something that's controversial but has an argument for existing. It's just spyware. Period.
I think GOG implemented additional fixes to the game recently, but I don't know if these were drawn from the community or not. I'm a huge GOG fanboy, but it really calls into question if they scanned those recent updates properly before implementing them as part of the download. I reported it as a bug two days ago, not entirely sure how that's handled or if they'll get back to me. In the meantime, my anti-virus was able to quarantine and remove it, and I stopped the download and removed all elements of Dark Reign.
