Well it's taken me 20 years to finally finish this game. With a long intermission I guess.
The good:
- Using Martyrs in phase runners to take out artillery
- Everything the Martyrs yell
- Having 200 Skirmish Tanks and Tank Hunters
- Using artillery to take bases out
- Being unable to place a building, so you just shoot down all the trees in the way (Tank Hunter is great at this, weirdly)
- Shooting the earthquake tank
The not so good:
- Being shot by the earthquake tank
- The weird pathing bug where units pause for a second whenever you give them a move order. The more you click, the worse you make the problem
- The select-boxes around Units which don't extend to their full perimeter, making units harder to select than CnC/RA
- The hole in the middle of the repair bay. Want to send Units in there, nope, you've selected the guy being repaired.
- If you have 200 Skirmish Tanks and Tank Hunters and give them a move order, only 10% of them will even try to move.
- Telling them to attack something is just as bad.
- The terrain oddities, they should have just left 3D terrain to a 3D engine. Whenever you think you're building on high ground, you're probably building a turret in a ditch.
- Finding an amazing place to build a bridge, then finding due to bridge geometry/shore geometry, it won't fly
The weird:
- Is there any point to the Phase Tank? I never found one.
- The Triple-Rail Hovertank also seems to have paper thin armour, it doesn't seem to be a very good opposite to the Tachion tank.
- Is it possible to put artillery on fire-at-will? That would have been awesome, but I couldn't find a setting in the Unit orders to do so
