Kage is by far the hardest boss I have ever faced in a FPS (Manero from Wages of SiN is the second hardest, who has three phases, drunk missiles, and a nuke launcher). I have not found any solid strategy on avoiding his ghosts so far. Let's see how well each weapon does against the ghosts:
Glock 2020: Shouldn't even be used in the fight
Slugger: Sometimes it one-shots them, but their hitboxes are weird and sometimes you don't hit them
Cordite Grenade: Too dangerous to use, might explode in your face (if it hits them at all)
Kinecticore: The best weapon against the ghosts. Though sometimes they can still bypass.
Ripgun: Somewhat useful, sometimes it hits, sometimes it doesn't.
Novabeam: Doesn't even seem to work against the ghosts at all
Metamaser: The most effective suicide tool since the cyanide pill.
Daikatana: Shouldn't be used in the fight.
The best strategy I've found is Ripgun against Kage and Kinecticore against his ghosts, but as usual it's not 100% foolproof because he summons the ghosts too fast for you to switch and Kinecticore may hit you too. Not to mention the ghosts can hit you even if you don't see them. In fact, I have no idea how the ghosts work other than charging at you then somehow damaging you.
So has anyone beaten Kage on Shogun without taking any damage? Do you have some strategies to share?
