According to the Steam page this game has VR support. Anybody know if or how this can be activated in the GOG release?

Unfortunately not, because VR version requires SteamVR (that's why we had to disable it on GOG) :(

I don't see why it isn't possible when I ran non steam games that has vr and it was able to use steam vr.
