I know this is wayy too early lol but just wondering if that's a possibility down the line

I don't know, but i hope so. I'm sure modders will be doing all kinds of little modding regardless, depending on how easily moddable the game engine is, but an official support would be cool, so that modders could really sink in and build new features, areas etc..
