Death Stranding was an odd game for me. I watched Distortion speedrunning it and immediately wanted to play the game. I enjoyed every minute (minus most boss fights). The main enemy is the map and the main gameplay loop is finding your way around while trying to carry as little stuff as possible.

It was strangely compelling for me but at the same time I can see why people might hate it.

Hades, a rougelike hack and slash that's actually much better than the description sounds.
As for the constant crashes. For my system I'm not optimistic it's gonna get fixed at all let alone soon, it seems to be a windows 7 + NVidia GPU issue lots of people are having but as Windows 7 is no longer supported I doubt CDPR give a shit.

I've been watching Dan play it on Extra Credits.

I don't like roguelikes most of the time, due to progress loss.
It's oddly fun watching him play it though. :-)

Believe me, it is.

The entire game is literally just:
- Go to A
- Receive job and collect packages
- Go to B
- Deliver packages

Sometimes you get:
- Go to A
- Receive job
- Go to B
- Retrieve stolen/lost package
- Return to A or go to C
- Deliver stolen/lost package

On 3 or 4 occasions you get a little bit more variety:
- Go to A
- Collect packages
- Go to B
- Defeat giant boss monster along the way
- Deliver packages

And 2 or 3 times you get sent to the past:
- Chase after some dude and defeat him


People aren't kidding when they say Death Stranding is a glorified walking simulator. It really is.

FWIW there is not sooo much walking. You can also drive/zip-line :)

More seriously, watch a video before and only get the game on a discount if you decide to jump in.

Hold on... Legend of Legends OF LEGENDS? I know you get Legend of Legends for getting S-rank on Premium deliveries on Very Hard, but how do you get triple-legend?

Did they add it in some update or something?

On PS4 the highest difficulty was "Hard" and you got LoL for getting an S-rank on premium deliveries.

On PC highest difficulty is "Very Hard" and you get LoLoL for S-ranking premium deliveries. Afaik it's been like this since first day on PC. The delivery menu also now shows the exact requirements for S-rank. You no longer have to guess the time for timed deliveries.

Edit: Don't switch difficulty during delivery. It must be "Very hard" from accepting to final delivery. Otherwise you will get an lower rank.

I see. I was playing on PS4 and stopped long before the PC version came out, so I never experienced Very Hard. Thanks for the info.

Because if you take off the fluff and give this game a definition, it is a courier simulator. You carry boxes around a very large world. With some story in between and some stealth/action. Very strange game.

I uninstalled the game too, but I didn't have game-breaking issues, just immersion breaking ones. I'm waiting (or rather, hoping for) for both patches and significant content additions to the game so it will probably be a while before I play it again.

did u test FPS locked to 30? try it, lets see if it breaks. even if you dont wanna play at 30fps , do the test.

Still crashes a lot.

I managed to finish the game, but I'm not touching it again till they fix the ctds!

we are almost halfway though January and they promised a patch this month and next month that will solve BIG problems and may add content.
