i hear only one lamo report or looks like dark/anti-PR.
also I at first want add that "it have security issue" is lamo statement itself... but ok. Installing a game through gaming clients can be a security hole. Still not mean they are. Especially for GOG Galaxy which one execute script file first and what stored there and not DISMM service directly. Steam is most insecure service since about '12 because its security depand on game release since then.
anyway lets keep such statement to PR/anti-PR/managers and lamers. Admin run is required to install games and first launch. With or without gaming clients. Gaming clients have same rules.
Of course keep UAC service on and at default state.
Still even W.Defender on Win10+ can be an issue even when didnt on win8 (MSE never be an issue for me on win7 and never require any exceptions and exclusions, games without admin work well from /Games/ after first launch in admin). Many ppl report issues with it for gog dll files paranoid. Including for Cyberpunk-2077.
Still unclear what to do with Win DEP security service. Never work properly by design since WinXP. Exceptions never work. By design require enable to all apps first and still ignore exception list. Maybe fully disabling (bcedit nx whatever) are still better even since many Windows updates and new Win family OS.
Also there is sometimes "nx security updates" which require install another "security update" hotfix. Since Win8 (and Win7 after 2015) hard to suggest: install latest stable updates build or not. No real "security updates" from Microsoft for 15 years.
