I tried to update to 2.0 , it downloaded like 58GB and now is stuck in a endless loop.
It always fails ans says Update failed, checking files, requesting files, 38/38MB and then starts over again.
I already restarted GOG
I already restarted whole PC.

Help?

Edit 4: I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and this time I checked "keep this game updated" which I don't know if that actually mattered and it fixed it.

I'm having the same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the game runs and says it is version 2.0 though. It just keeps saying it needs to download 38mb but never does. I'm going to forget about it and the problem should fix itself eventually.

Edit: I closed GOG and ran the game without GOG, then closed the game and reopened GOG and now it says it needs to download 21mb instead of 38mb.

Edit 2: I verified files and now it says it needs to download 38mb again. I haven't had this much fun since I broke my leg.

Edit 3: When it says it needs to download 38mb it actually downloads 21mb and says error.

same here, it left me with deinstalling the entire game and make a reinstall.

It's another frequent bug of Galaxy that GOG never bothered to fix.

You can try this:

- quit galaxy
- navigate to your install folder (N:\gog\<game> is mine but most people will prolly have it in the C drive)
- delete .hashdb and the other temp file but not the folders or .info files.
- navigate to the Data folder
- delete gustav.pak.state
- rename gustav.pak.download to gustav.pak
- restart gog galaxy
- after install verify game integrity

EDIT: Note that the gustav.* files are specific to Baldur's Gate 3, so maybe you'll have other .pak / .state files to rename or delete

EDIT : I turned auto-update off, and even though I still have the "update failed' bug on gog galaxy, I launched the game from the icon on startup/desktop and the update 2.0 was there.
- I didnt experience crashes.
- Police fights was cool and working well
- Car guns working well even on bike can use pistol / sword.

BUG - when driving on 3rd person, my character has no hair, costume or anything, totally random.
- GOG Galaxy saying " update failed ".

I have never used GOG Galaxy - i always download and install all of my GOG games manually... Cyberpunk 2.0 downloaded,installed without any problems and is running overall good... (just had to get rid of some mods).

So it really seems to be a GOG Galaxy problem.

Yes! It is a GOG Problem!
If you go to your game directory and START the game from there, you can play it.
I played the game yesterday and it was up to date and working.
Only GOG is crying and having still issues with that 38MB update and I dont want to re-install a whole 60GB game because of a faulty app when the game is working.

Man this is pissing me off so much!
Damn GOG can not install the Phantom Update and I am sitting here and have to troubleshoot cause they can not code a proper program!
