Hey all,

I scoured through all the outfit stores, and sadly they only have a limited amount of outfit recipes that you can buy, which I don't really like.

1. My suggestion is to let us learn crafting recipes once you have disassembled enough of them, like say automatically learn the recipe of an item once you've disassembled 10 of them. You can even create new perks in the crafting tree to reduce this amount.

There are some outfits that I like, but I don't want to gimp myself in armor department by wearing something from level 2.

Eventually, once you loot enough items, you can craft almost anything, but, is it such a bad thing?

2. Can you rework upgrades to not make it so costly? If you don't want us to get all crafting recipes, then let us be able to continually upgrade our favorite outfits up to current level, but not make it cost too much.

Right now it costs the same amount of mats to craft something new whether you are level 1 or level 20. Upgrading the same outfit from level 1 to level 20 would cost an insane amount of mats. There needs to be some balance.

3. If you cannot do the above 2, then give us more "cosmetic" outfits like the hazmat suit. At least let us cover up the ugly outfit with the full body cosmetics.

Even fhe crafting tree doesn't give much in the way of schematics/patterns for crafting. Trying to put together a cohesive outfit for a look you like is a pain enough to begin with, only compounded by the fact that trying to keep that same gear relevant gets worse the more you progress in the game. I resigned myself to the fact that most of my gear would always be terrible, simply because I liked the way my character looked and I didn't want to be forced to look like someone threw a box of legos in a blender. Customization as a whole needs serious fleshing out.
I do think upgrading costs too much.

I would also like to be able to keep the gun and clothes look I like.
maybe just do what terraria did.

Have a seperate equipment tab for visuals, that when used, overwrites the look of the stat items... while still using the stats from the stat items.

Then have cosmetic slots for guns too, so if I put a legendary gun that is basically one shotting enemies for me, but has a boring grey or green look, then I can drop another of the same gun type into the cosmetic slot to get the look from the better gun.

Golden gun anyone?

Just out of curiosity - why do you care what you look like if you can only see yourself in the mirror and on a bike in third person?

It's a genuine question - why does the look matter to you in the game if it is first person 95% of the time.

I just like the "idea" of looking good. Even if it's for a brief moment on the bike, I want to make sure I look good.

I mean, if outfit didn't matter, then why even have so much variety? Might as well just design 1 set of clothing and be done with it.

Because unfortunately despite all statements from the developers to the contrary, it really does not matter how you look in the game. The fact that you look like a clown most of the time if you are trying to use the best (armor/stat wise) clothes in the game is a testament to that.

You have to go out of your way (game mechanic wise) to find a decent matching set of clothing and then you will continuously incur a penalty for wearing it as you progress.

So the look matters for the inventory screen and "camera" screenshots - that's it. Rather dumb considering how much effort went into drawing all those different (and there are many, many variants) shirts, pants and skirts.

You could have had matching sets of clothing giving you extra stats benefits (like more armor or health or protection etc). Done before, Witcher 3 - check. Or you could have different reaction / attitude depending on how you are dressed - like access to corporate headquarters or clubs if you are dressed in corporate clothing. But actually clothes mean squat...

Although I'm always for stats over looks, It bothers me when my character looks dumber then kramer from that episode of seinfeld where he's all dressed up like a pimp!

Heh bloodlines had an outfit like that for Malkavian male.

I believe that clothing should be simple and should not have too many inscriptions or logos on it. In my opinion, this repels the client.

It's 2077... logos are fashionable now, maybe they are even more fashionable 56 years from now, when corporations have taken over.

What do you mean? Logos are fashionable right now and they cost a lot of money. People are walking advertisements already.

Just saw a new Adidas shirt design in a park when some dude jogged past. The stripes on the arms and the Adidas logo on the chest was not enough advertisement. Now there's also three stripes on the back, too. So you can advertise a company 360 degrees. An advertisement that probably costs €30 to buy.

People have a kangaroo on their hats, swoosh on their shoes, some Levi dude's name on their pants and a crocodile on their shirt.

That's exactly what I mean: I was replying to neeltones' statement that logos repel the client. Which is not true: people are continuously wearing branded stuff now, so I was imagining that in a future where corporations have become even more powerful, people would wear even more branded stuff.

Ah, now I get it. Like in Idiocracy with the shirt vending machine at home.

I try to make my character look as good and elegant as possible.
