There's this rumor that Adam Smasher actually knows you are in the hotel room during the heist. There's something to note when you are replaying the game and want to try this out yourself. I was told you need to get your technical ability up to a certain amount, which is not true. It is actually done through an ocular cyberware mod called "threat detector". I checked the mod description and it doesn't list any requirements. But you don't actually need the mod to figure out he knows you are there. If you look at him you'll see he's staring right at you.
