Just throwing in my two cents...

I am playing from scratch from patch 1.3 on a new rig. So far I'm loving this game. Very few glitches so far. Just some issues detecting items and a lot of convos with NPCs don't have a goodbye option, forcing you to walk away to end the convo. Not gamebreaking. Most serious was difficulty detecting the briefcase on the VTOL on the roof during the heist. Had trouble detecting it and had to do some jumping to get to it. I'm also playing a stealthy netrunner that hits enemies with quickhacks from cover and avoiding firefights that could hit civilians, causing cops to target you. So no cops spawning behind me.

I seriously have trouble understanding all the hate for the game. I get that it came out buggy but the game got released in December 2020. The whole world went into Covid lockdown in March 2020 so the last ten months up to release, development got screwed. People had to work from home. (Which has this epic effect on productivity...) You couldn't get together for work or travel between towns, let alone countries, depending on where you were. And they were developing for....how many platforms? PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, at least two XBoxes, Stadia....am I missing anything? I remember how buggy all the Fallout games were, both under Interplay and Bethesda. They're still awesome and it happened without a global pandemic. I've never played GTA but I love watching GTA fails and wins on Youtube. Check out the glitches (or are they features?) that regularly show up even today. Flying bikes...flying planes missing wings, bouncing cars, etc. I got Horizon Zero Dawn for PS4 Pro almost a year after launch on that single platform and it still crashed on occasion. They only had one platform to work on. It's still once of the best games on the planet. The PC version that came out a year after that seemed to have it's share of growing pains too. Have you guys tried taking Aloy out to reveal the full map? Does the game crash once you get out too far off the edge on some maps? It does on PS4 Pro.

I hope you guys took the pandemic into account when blaming CD Project Red for this. I don't know. I've barely started the game so maybe my opinion will change once I've finished a run or two but I find this game really affordable. If you're expecting a Rockstar/Ubisoft experience, bear in mind you're looking at Premium and Ultimate Editions, paid DLCs, costume packs and stuff like Shark Cards for their online stuff. And all the online stuff disappears into the ether once their servers die. It may not happen soon but it will happen someday. Fallout 3 GOTY, Skyrim, Mass Effect are still a complete experience years after release. Can you say the same for Destiny? Or Fallout 76? Or basically any game with an online component? What was Metal Gear Online like? What is Metal Gear Solid V going to be like once they lose FOB content? How many people miss Ace Combat Infinity? Or Deadman's Cross? Or Gravity Daze 2's online treasure hunt/pic sharing? Or any online game that has since shut down? Yeah, I'm totally disinterested in online functionality. Not unless it's something like a user made p2p lobby that doesn't require a company maintained server.

I get the feeling all this noise is people trying to get the Cyberpunk license out from CD Project RED to other parties. I don't know if that will be good or bad for the fandom. I do think CD Project RED did things in this game that no other developer would dare to. For better or worse. Do you really want things to change? I hope they keep working on it myself cos I see so much I want to play in this game.

***SPOILERS****

I'm still deeply infatuated with it's original "When it's ready" trailer. That's a Maxtac Male V holding a machine pistol to a cyberpsycho right there. Who winds up a Maxtac officer herself soon(?) after, never removing the scar on her face. What's her story? Is there a way to change the fate of everyone in the Heist? A Yorinobu route? He's basically a Matou heir from Fate Stay Night. I would so join up with him to take down Saburo. Hanako couldn't defy Saburo either. What would she do if her soul was up on the block? What would Oda do under these circumstances? And that new Johnny costume is....wow... So many plot possibilities, given how long they had Johnny to play with. What if the engram Yorinobu had was the only version of Johnny closest to the original? What were Yorinobu's original intentions? Honestly wonder if Yorinobu was a Samurai fanboy.

****SPOILERS END***

Anyway, I want more Cyberpunk. Seriously. Don't kill it. Please.

Hanglyman: So, I've got a couple questions for people who have played it:

1. Are there long term plans to improve it? Is this like No Man's Sky, where it started off horrible but eventually became a decent game because they kept putting in more work, or has this one just been abandoned?

2. In the game's current state, what percent sale discount do you think it would need before it became "worth it" to buy it despite its flaws?
1: They have not fulfilled a single promise on time... They say they did not abandon it but the dev team was sliced in half and missed at least 6 milestones for content and patches.

2: I got a solid 100hours out of it and would say it's truly worth its full price, or any amount off. Its a quality single play though experience that does not lead to giving any reason to ever play it again. You are locked in to linear story line often that you cannot skip or pass. the game has a defined unchangeable start and middle that builds to various epilogues that all end essentially the same, not as bad as Mass Effect though.

It was worth it for a single run though, enjoy everything, do everything you can because you won't be coming back to it in game once done. This is nothing like the Witcher or Skyrim, everything is very much tailored to the quests. Certain large areas are only open or populated during certain quests and then lock you out from going back.

But that said it was 100% worth the experience, without some massive content or major ending changes or some kinda of dynamic quest system this game is done for me. I'll never play it again. That's coming from a guy with 1,000 hours EACH in all the Elderscrolls and Fallouts the GTA's and Saints Row's... This is NOT an open world, its pseudo open that opens and shuts as you progress locking you out and letting you into various places over time.

But its done well, very well, like the 2 newest Deus Ex games. If you like Cyberpunk and want a heavily story focused games that leads you from story branch to branch this is your holy grail! I will forever remember this game, it was seriously fantastic... but its not an open world, there is nothing dynamic ro make you want to play, there is nothing to explore, no reward for going off the beaten path. Its tightly crafted quests built around a fantastic story with a boring start, fantastic middle, and unrewarding end.. but that's Cyberpunk.

If you want what Cyberpunk 2077 could have and should have been buy The Ascent. Its truly everything Cyberpunk 2077 said it would be and never became. Another option is Cloudpunk Its perfect sky car Cybeprunk amazingness.

On GOG were limited to high quality single player Cybeprunk. If you want a shooter like painkiller there is Hard Reset, if you want a detective thriller that twists reality there is >Observer_ and lastly if you want some high quality story with great action, moral grey area and endings to blow you away the 2 Deus Ex will do just that.

But I can still highly recommend Cybpunk 2077, Dont think its an open world ready to explore and roleplay in, its not, its a tightly crafted story you get to experience and are able to drive to a conclusion based on what quests you complete or not.

Cloudpunks setting reminds me of G-police and The Ascent looks like a cross between Syndicate and FFVII.

Thanks, very helpful. I've already played Human Revolution, have Mankind Divided and Cloudpunk but haven't played them yet, and have now added The Ascent and Observer to my wishlists. I may wait until the planned DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is released, then get it once it goes on sale (since it seems to be at least 33% off fairly often).

Even Though I can't start it on my win7sp1 "64BIT" PC, I still play gimped version on ps5. I like the game a lot. Western envy for cyberpunk 2077 evolved into hate. Just watch some youtube. Oh and Especially youtube's Spawn Wave; that dude just can't wait for the opportunity to dunk on cp2077 anytime he gets a chance.

1. No. The game is not an alpha like NMS, the game will get more content and such, buit It will not become GTA nor a CRPG.

2. None. Full price, I love it. The game is not GTA, if you wanted GTA the game will "suck", just like if you wanted a bethesda game out of The Wittcher 3, that would always "suck". The game is an amazing story oriented open world RPG, it is not a looter shooter, it is not a wacky sandbox.
