Joint CEO Adam Badowski says he is considering multiplayer for the next Cyberpunk game, which is code named Orion. Of course they said that for the first game and the plan to incorporate MP obviously fell through.
Badowski said he wants to have at least 80 employees working on project Orion before the year's end. He also mentioned wanting to use AI as part of development; using alongside (instead of replacing) human developers.
The article below the one I referenced said MP might make single player worse, but I don't think that tracks.
A little side tangent...before I found out MP was getting 86'd in the first CP2077 game, I spent time practicing driving for the purpose of MP. I was looking forward to driving shenanigans like drag racing, doing drive-bys, or being a getaway driver. Que sera, sera.
