So I've finished a good amount of quests that I considered non-lethally. It ranges from just using Short Circuit (and Contagion), just using toxic grenades, and using the blunt weapons like the batons or Tinker Bell. I also have the Target Analysis cyberware mod or whatever it is that claims that it renders all weapons are non-lethal and Smart Weapons would only aim for the limbs.
However, I've finished some quests and some of the NPCs react as if I had killed someone during my firefights.
My Latest Scenario:
I did the quest where you are asked to save a monk's brother who has been kidnapped and is about to be forced into implantation.
In my first run, I did the air jump takedown onto the first enemy that knocks them out. For the rest, I used a mixture of smart weapons, Contagion, and Short Circuit. I made sure that all the enemies' body are either blinking, breathing, or shuffling on the ground; however, despite all of this, the monk's reacts as if I had killed someone.
In my second run, I only used Contagion and Short Circuit. The monk reacts the same way.
In my third, I just used a baton and knock all of them out. The monk reacts the same way.
Finally, I did the quest only doing the stealth takedown that's nonlethal. The monk thanks me graciously for not killing anyone.
This is not the only quest that reacts if I killed someone when I play these three playstyles.
So What Is Actually Considered Non-Lethal Right Now?
Despite the current state of CP2077, what is also considered non-lethal in quests besides doing stealthy, non-lethal takedowns? Do I have to only do these takedowns for all of them? There are some scenarios or quests where it becomes impossible or difficult to do them.
Does the Target Analysis really make all weapons non-lethal? The NPCs in the quests don't seem to acknowledge it.
To the Developers:
I think it would be also helpful if all scanned bodies show whether it has expired or is still alive. I know some scanned bodies do display death, but it's not every one during gameplay. Should also put in more recognizable text color for that status too.
