I want the option of Killing Craig Really this option would be most welcomed also Panam, with optional pin it on a CyberPsycho

You can kill plenty of NPC's, they are the dumbest AI in existance, though, Valve's roach AI is smarter..

It would be nice to have the option to attack anyone, even if they are unkillable.

Pretty sure can even attack kids, but they takre no damage and disappear when you turn your head or take a screenshot.

I've never experienced a less immersive world to date. Since maybe the PC and Atari 2600 days.

lace_gardenia: uh, do you mean like the original ibm pc here?
Even some of those text based adventures offered more immersion than some things today. Ironically. It just was a wall of text. Old school memories, though..

I'm not with the op on the choice of people.

However, there WERE a few I'd have shot in the head, except the game specifically prevented me from doing so.
While investigating her manager, the bouncer at the door is a total douche if you ask about said manager.
My first reaction was 'I'm shootin you in the head' and pulled a gun.... only to find that the area is a 'safe zone' so I can't shoot ANYONE.
This is totally immersion breaking!

I tried to get around it by backing up out of the 'safe zone' but it still refused to let me shoot the guy.
Somewhat ironically, I could shoot any of the innocent civies wandering along the sidewalk next to the bouncer.

Morrowind was much better in this regard.
Kill anyone you want, but if you off the wrong person, you break the story.
Totally your choice.

That said, I hated in skyrim where you could accidentally kill your companions.
I always use a mod that makes them un-killable, among other things.

lace_gardenia: ah, ok :)

yeah, the infocom games are still pretty good, and there is an active community writing new games in that style
Did you play anything by Steve Jackson and or Ian Livingston.

I just thought, here we are with all the tech of today, and they still can't get this into a 3D adventure? However, the AI in even 2D sprite based games is closer to this today, and it is sad, really. Maybe books are really the best option for immersion forever, if the industry is any sign..
The Fighting Fantasy Series were good to me playing in bed lamp on.
