I really want to enjoy the beauty of this game but its annoying that the default walk is so fast and I can't seem to change it. Help?
No help, nothing you can do except wait for CDPR to come to their senses.
In the meantime I'm not gonna be playing it any further without a walk button, that's for sure.

Not a good sign as it seems like any FPS veteran with their say would have included this on day one of playtesting.

Install is at 48% and am contemplating how to cancel and refund.

Honestly? I tried it through a friend's account on Steam to see if I was going to buy it.
For now, it's a big NOPE. Not without a walk button I ain't.
I was just coming here to make a post about this myself. It's really immersion breaking to be jogging *everywhere* and I was really hoping to be able to just walk around and soak up each scene instead of always being in a rush.

I wouldn't cancel over it it; I'm a few hours in and I'm having an amazing time so far. I just want them to add it in next or in a near-future update,

I cancelled the download and submitted a refund request.

I've been playing FPS type games since Doom 1 during the 90's. I can't deal with basic things like a workable control scheme for the platform the game is released on not being there. Not dealing with a compromised experience as "punishment" for not using a controller.

I did! I'm too old for this crap. People cancelling orders over this is the message they need to fix it.

It's a good thing you can still enjoy it.

I honestly can't.
Agreed.
It is also worth noting that the game already has such a movement speed without a controller. It turns on in some segments, where the main character follows the NPC or when you move in scan mode outside of combat.
There is a mod for that on the Nexus.
Hmm, seems I can't post a link, well if you go to Nexusmods.com\cyberpunk2077\mods and search for "walk key" you should find it easy enough.

Nexus modding site have numerous different mods for walking and slow walking for the PC.

Go here https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077 and search for walk (one is currently on the trending, but there are many others).

Just backup your original file(s) and find one to your liking. I have tweaked my own version that is a mix of many of those, to fit me specifically.
Consoles first. Walk has been disappearing from PC games for a long time. Sad, but true.
There is no walk toggle but your character will automatically start walking when following other npcs or doing a specific activity.

At first, I really missed this but after a while you kinda forget it since the game adjust it for you automatically where applicable.

EDIT: I went into the game with the mindset to walk across the city and only run in combat or when it suited the circumstance but Night City is sooo big that you would spend ages walking between locations.

If this is true, it's buggy as hell and doesn't work.

Hey bud, update your WIndows 10 to build 1909 or higher- that worked for me. As much as I hate this new version of Windows, updating magically fixed all my problems with the game flatlining on launch. Hope this helped

How so? Other games do the same if you're following a NPC during a quest or something like that. LOL
