Frankly, going through legacy code is so enjoyable that it should actually count as vacation time. :-)
I shouldn't complain too much, though. I'm working at a small company and I've been in the job long enough that I'm starting to run into legacy junk written by a younger me. Recognizing that the absolute cretin who wrote that shit was actually me isn't really helpful, though. There was time pressure and strict orders, I tell myself. Because that totally makes it sting less.
