Since they changed a fair amount of important stuff and made leveling up mean nothing with enemy scaling I think with the DLC for CP I will wait at least 3 years in case it is decided to change major gameplay mechanics and break a current character I built up and was having fun with(Pretty much no armor now since I did not use cyberware that much). The way this has been handled by the creator I learned my lesson about doing any pre-release purchase. I think I will, from now on, wait until there is a damn good sale and it be drastically cheaper. At least anything from cd projekt red.

Well, This is one good thing, IF you have upgraded and did not have a good offline installer GOG decided to make the 1.63 available to download from the site and from Galaxy. I am still angry about everything else because the game runs rather smooth in 2.0 but back to 1.x I go. I attached a screenshot for the website spot. Just look in the Goodies section in Extras on Galaxy to locate it as well.

I removed the DLC from my wishlist. Maybe in a few years. Who knows.

Hate to burst your bubble but due to power scaling, V gets a lot stronger than enemies at higher levels in v2.0.

I have cooled down since then but here is my current issues.

Power scaling was something I learned about after reading more so it was not my major reason. My major things were as follows.

1. Everything is geared to using a controller now and I cannot correct the keymap for crouching. I have tried. The game ignores what I changed it to and I have to go back to keymapping area to look up how to do something because again, it shows hints if you use a controller even if you do not have a controller configured on the computer.

2. My character was beefy with a ton of armor etc so now he has almost nothing and makes my character build crap. This one made me take the DLC off my wishlist and plan to wait until it goes on a really really good sale. Changing it like this just pisses me off.

3. When all my buffs etc were removed and points returned I was also angry but that was small potatoes overall but was annoying.

4. I was a very light cyberware user so if I play I will need to go heavy as it has become less of a choice decided by the maker of the game instead of myself.

5. I was playing hard mode but now not so much. I am less sure of the game at this point and without being able to crouch I don't want to make it less fun. I started a new character with normal mode so if I decide to go back after they fix keymaps or a modder does it I am not sure.

I redownloaed 1.63. If I go and try the 2.x again it will be after I know the keyboard hints are back in the game and I can change my crouch keymap. The reason I need this to function is because in my late 30s(45 now) I had 2 strokes so my left pinkie is useless. Not being able to crouch behind something makes the game more difficult than it needs to be. The strokes evened out since they are each on different sides of my brain. :-D

I can muscle my way past the making clothes only cosmetic as I won't be changing them ever on 2.x since they mean nothing now. I never look at myself in the mirror. I am tempted to go in just boxers If I can get away with it, if I play on 2.x. Starting over means my over 120k money will not be there. I can just either deal with it or just look up console commands when that mod is fixed. oh well.
Rearding money i have 500k at level 20 only from cleaning up the start district - you wont buy anything as there is no need if you dont want a certain Car (you have one), Bike (you get one from a friend), Clothing, Ammo, Weapons are loot from Bodies or Loot-Containers.

No meds needed as - they are now on a timer and Ammo you can craft yourself in the rare case you need some (you will find aplenty but i get it, some weapons spam ammo with low damage per bullet and depending on difficulty you need more bullets to kill) as crafting is completey invalidated in the new game and offers nothing better than you by that time have already lootet so you will have aplenty of resscources.
Many good weapons you find are blocked from imrpoving via crafting...

You will swim in money be assured!

The keybinding thing is such a odd decision to me, I usually use the Ctrl key for Crouch [Hold] and the C key for Crouch [Toggle] and that setup is now invalid. I mean I could live with it, but that's annoying.

I honestly wish they did more of a half and half between scaling and set level enemies, because sometimes I want to feel like some factions are just that strong, but sometimes I want to feel a bit over powerful in some areas.
Yeah, Whoever designed the New Tech tree for Quick hacks and the rules governing it should be prevented from reproducing at all costs.

The update totally broke my characters build too, yeah I was miffed. But guess what, it was worth it. I started Phantom Liberty on a 630+ hour save and suddenly found myself with no armor and useless guns. Once I'd respecced my new build I found it's was way more fun, the new weapons, cyberware and mods are awesome. The story, well... that's on a another level.

I, like you, do not embrace change easily. But this change is very positive and in my opinion much needed.

I was honestly lucky that my build never really did anything w/ perks, only thing that was super messed up was my characters clothes when I updated XD
After playing the game w/ 2.0 more and more, it is for sure a welcome change for most of the game.
Both of my old 1.63 saves are basically a mess with wrong cyberware and gear for what they did. It would take hours fixing them, though it would be somewhat doable.

I just said "screw it" and started a new character.

The keybindings thing is absurd and needs fixing.

Not sure how I feel about the cyberware situation. On the one hand, it's now upgradeable anywhere, so it introduces a gameplay loop where you salvage loot you don't want to pay $$$ and materials to get cyberware upgrades. It actually made cyberware more compelling and interesting instead of sort of an optional thing I would occasionally snap up if I found a piece that would actually help me. It's a bit of a shame that you can't buy unique cyberware at different ripper docs, though. And if for some reason I wanted to go light on cyberware I would be screwed. Fortunately I use any and all cyberware I can find.

Cyberware tends to make putting points in Tech a little too important.
I backed up my 1.63 saves before I tried 2.0 :-3
