Im getting sick of playing First Person Shooters. Its called motions sickness I want to preoder and play Cyberpunk but I cant. Please give us a viable third person perspective!
The problem becomes the environment, third person perspectives force massive changes to the environment to adapt to the camera, I think its been made fairly clear even the cutscenes are first person. Because the environment of the game is focused around the first person story telling experience. However, I wouldnt put this in the same category as CoD. Its much more RPGish. Another posibility to get around it, is to get something that helps your motionsickness, there are some over the counter meds that help prevent it. Possibly that would give you a solution to your issue.
The first thing to say is that this isn't actually a first person shooter. It sounds so trivial, but shooters have fast gameplay. They're about constant repositioning in a 3D space to reduce the risk of getting shot, while of course also being able to return fire and accurately hit enemies. That is simply not the gameplay model in CP77.

This is an RPG in first person. You do not see many cops bunny-hop around with a lot of 360 spins, and none of the demo footage so far has suggested that kind of fast paced gameplay. There is shooting in the game, and repositioning is a theme, but not at the frantic pace of FPS games.

That aside, motion sickness does happen to me as well, when the camera is moving around too much or in ways that just aren't how my brain thinks it should be moving. Watching pro gamer footage from FPS games is usually not pleasant.

My suggestions, use them if they work, and obviously YMMV.

Reducing your mouse sensitivity can be slightly annoying but it does reduce micro-movement of the camera due to tiny tremors in your hand.

FOV angle, we don't know if it can be adjusted, but maybe. Some people feel like they're boxed in at default and widening the angle gives them a better and less stressful experience.

If there is weapon sway to simulate movement, turn it off.

Fiddle with the graphics settings to get rid of things that flicker. Dynamic shadows, for one, can some times be all over the place and having shadows move around is one thing that can fuck with your head. Also something like grass, while nice, can often end up very visibly switching back and forth between long range "low poly" mode and close range "high res" mode. If I can't get the draw distance far enough away, I prefer turning it off.

Make sure your frame rate is decent and constant and your mouse move is consistent and lag-free. You want the things that happen on screen to be as predictable and closely connected to the commands you're giving. If some eye candy is causing FPS drop in certain situations, switch it off.

Make sure that the brightness and contrast is reasonable to avoid eye strain. Not too bright, not too dark.

Make sure the environment you're playing in is good. Reasonably fresh air, reasonable temperature, decent ambient lighting.

Don't feel bad about taking a break every so often and just spend a minute or two staring at a nice fixed point. You're not moving, the point isn't moving, just breath in and out and regain your balance.

I guess some folks could release a fan mod for 3rd person in the future. It wont be the CDPR experience, but there might be more people like you who want to play the game regardless. You could also try a POV seting. That helped some people with that issue.

There's something wrong with the world today
I don't know what it is
Something's wrong with our eyes
We're seeing things in a different way
And God knows it ain't his
It sure ain't no surprise
I think its more First Person RPG. Not sure if this makes any difference.

It sounds like you are being effected by what's usually refered to as 'Simulation Sickness'. This is typically caused by having your Field of View set too low. I get it as well. Try setting it to a minimum of 90 degrees. If needed try a little higher until you feel comfortable. Additionally, if the game you are playing has an option for it, remove head bobbing. Those two things together usually solve the issue for me.

Edit: Forgot about headbobbing.

lace_gardenia: motion sickness don't care about age, and it's hard to predict what will trigger it,
Yup. I play shooters and I don't have a problem with motion sickness. A friend of mine who is the same age as me had to quit Halo 2 because it made him nauseous. Although I still get motion sickness from roller coasters and airplane flights.

Ballerinas prevent motion sickness by focusing on a point. In an FPS that should be your cross hairs. Try keeping your eyes fixated on your crosshairs instead of anywhere else. Try moving slowly and over time gradually pick up the pace at which you move your mouse/crosshairs.

I get the decision made by the developer. I suffer from motion sickness as well but, the arguments that the devs team and Mike Pondsmith make sense.

- You have more awareness in 3rd person than in the first person.
- The Kiroshi eyesights would be useless,
- Immersion.

And also not every game needs to be a 3rd person adventure shooter. If you really want to play cyberpunk 2077 just wait for a mod I guess. “¯\_(ツ)_/¯“

Also, not every cutscene will be in the first person.

Yesterday I ran into this trying out Borderlands 3. Most games I have no issue with. For some reason even the "pre-sequel" didn't impact me the same way: maybe there was a subtle change to the engine or default settings. I only thought of it due to seeing a streamer change their FOV for similar reasons in another game. With the larger FOV it was fine.
